LEGO® Technic Moto BMW M 1000 RR 42130 : la superbike allemande en briques
Share
For years, the LEGO® Technic range was dominated by cars: hypercars, Formula 1 machines and construction vehicles. Then a motorcycle arrived—and not just any motorcycle. The BMW M 1000 RR was recreated at a scale never previously used for a Technic bike.
The first LEGO® Technic motorcycle at 1:5 scale
Set 42130 is the first Technic two-wheeler designed at 1:5 scale. The finished model measures approximately 45 cm long and 27 cm high. It is not a small desk ornament: it has genuine visual presence and needs a considered display space.
The larger scale also creates room for mechanical functions, which is where this set shows what Technic does best.
Which functions actually move?
Under the fairing, set 42130 includes a functional three-speed gearbox plus neutral, chain transmission, an inline four-cylinder engine with moving pistons, steering and working front and rear suspension.
These features help explain the set's 1,920 pieces. The build is not purely cosmetic: it recreates the logic of a motorcycle's transmission and chassis, making the construction process especially satisfying for fans of engineering.
The real BMW M 1000 RR
The choice of subject matters. The BMW M 1000 RR was the first motorcycle to carry BMW's M badge, previously associated with the company's most performance-focused cars. It is road legal but developed with the racetrack in mind, and the model has competed in the Superbike World Championship.
Its white, red and blue M Motorsport colours are faithfully represented in the LEGO® version. That strong visual identity inspired our four wall-display designs.

Four ways to display the bike on a wall
A completed model of this size raises a practical question: where should it go? On a conventional shelf, the motorcycle occupies a lot of depth, gathers dust and is often viewed from an angle that hides the side profile and mechanical details.
Our aluminium wall panels are made to suit set 42130, with the motorcycle mounts already positioned. Each of the four visual styles has a distinct character.
M VELOCITY emphasises movement and speed. M HERITAGE uses the M Motorsport colours and the brand's sporting history. M Performance Edition has a technical, track-focused atmosphere. M Spectrum is the most graphic and colourful choice.
Three finishes are available: spacers that create a floating effect; a structured black aluminium frame; or a battery-powered LED frame with lighting controlled from a smartphone. Every version is made in France, and free delivery is available in the countries we serve.
