LEGO® Technic Ferrari 488 Pista 42235: is the new set worth it?

After the Ferrari Daytona SP3 42143, the Ferrari SF-24 42207 and the Ferrari 488 GTE AF Corse 42125, LEGO® adds a new Ferrari to its Technic range with the 42235 Ferrari 488 Pista set. Available since 1 August 2026 at around €50, it's one of the most accessible releases of the LEGO® back-to-school season. But at this price, what can you really expect from it?

What is the Ferrari 488 Pista?

The Ferrari 488 Pista is the lightened, souped-up version of the 488 GTB, developed for track use. Its 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 produces 720 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful non-atmospheric Ferraris ever produced. Its name, Pista, simply means "track" in Italian, that's its natural element.

What you can expect from the LEGO® Technic 42235

At around €50, the 42235 is clearly in the introductory Technic set category, under 500 pieces, simple mechanical functions, compact format. It's not a set of the calibre of the Daytona SP3 or the 42125 GTE, but it's an excellent entry point into the LEGO® Technic Ferrari collection.

For collectors who want to complete their Ferrari gallery without investing €200+, the 42235 is the ideal complement to the big sets.
