Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss becomes a 4,000-piece brick-built artwork designed to hang on a wall. LEGO® Art 31221 is described by LEGO® as its biggest Art “masterpiece” to date and has proportions close to a framed picture.

The model was developed in collaboration with Vienna’s Belvedere Museum, where the original painting is displayed. It recreates the embracing couple, geometric motifs, flowers and golden colours associated with Klimt’s Golden Period.
Decorated circles, spirals, studs, flowers and metallic-gold elements add relief rather than forming a completely flat image. The appearance changes subtly with the light.
A genuine wall decoration
The finished work measures over 60 cm high, 54 cm wide and 4 cm deep. Its frame forms part of the build and a hanging mechanism is integrated into the back. Klimt’s signature is also recreated.

Is it really the biggest LEGO® Art set?
The wording matters: LEGO® calls it its biggest LEGO® Art “masterpiece” to date because it contains 4,000 pieces. This does not mean it is the biggest LEGO® set across every range, or necessarily the one covering the largest surface.
How should it be displayed?
The golden tones work especially well on dark green, navy or charcoal walls. Soft side lighting reveals the relief better than harsh frontal light. Always select the wall plug and screw according to the wall type and the finished model’s weight.

How can a busy scene stay readable?
Arrange characters and accessories in small groups, leaving a little empty space between actions. A single strong focal point helps the viewer understand the scene immediately. If interiors matter, choose an angle that does not close them off.
Should moving functions remain accessible?
Yes, if you plan to demonstrate or reconfigure the model. Leave clearance around doors, traps, rotating parts and removable sections. A presentation that blocks the main function may look neat at first but reduces the long-term enjoyment of the set.
What lighting suits colourful or detailed builds?
Use soft, diffused light and avoid prolonged direct sun. Side lighting can reveal depth without producing harsh reflections. A visually calm background helps bright colours and small figures remain distinct.
How should minifigures be arranged?
A separate row works for pure collecting, while an integrated arrangement tells the story more naturally. In both cases, stabilise the figures and avoid placing them directly in front of the most recognisable part of the model.
