2026 Dutch GP: Zandvoort's last dance, a chapter closes

The 2026 Dutch Grand Prix takes place on 23 August at the Zandvoort circuit. But this edition carries special weight: according to available information, this weekend could be Formula 1's last on this Dutch coastal track. A look back at a circuit that has defined the European season since its return in 2021.
Zandvoort's triumphant comeback
Absent from the F1 calendar since 1985, Zandvoort returned in 2021, driven by Max Verstappen and the Orange Army movement. Over five seasons, the Dutch circuit has become one of the most electric events on the calendar: the orange grandstand, passionate crowds, and a technical layout with its signature banked corners.
A circuit unlike any other
Zandvoort is built on the Dutch coastal dunes, just a few hundred metres from the North Sea. Its short layout (4.259 km) and steeply banked corners, including the Hugenholtz Banked Corner, make it a truly unique circuit on the modern F1 calendar.
The Orange Army's last dance
If this is indeed the final edition, Dutch fans intend to make it one to remember. Max Verstappen has won every edition since the return in 2021, a record the 2026 season could break, with a Kimi Antonelli in red-hot form.
After Zandvoort, F1 returns at Monza
From 6 September, F1 heads to Monza for the Italian GP, Scuderia Ferrari on home turf, with Lewis Hamilton in the red car. It's a return set to be one of the most emotionally charged of the season.
