How to create a LEGO® gallery wall in your living room

The idea of a wall entirely dedicated to your favourite LEGO® sets, displayed as aluminium wall art, is no longer reserved for museums or shops. More and more adult collectors are creating LEGO® gallery walls at home that become the focal point of their living room or office. Here's how to go about it.
Choosing the sets for your gallery
A successful gallery wall tells a coherent story. A few approaches that work:
- The themed gallery: only F1 cars, or only Ferraris, or only Star Wars. Visual coherence is at its maximum.
- The decades gallery: one set per decade of motoring, the 60s Shelby Cobra, the 80s Countach, the 2020s Sián, telling the evolution of car design.
- The personal gallery: your favourite sets with no thematic constraint, what matters is that each piece means something to you.
The layout: the basic rules
For a harmonious gallery wall, a few simple principles:
- Alternate formats if possible, mix 75 × 45 cm and 55 × 35 cm pieces to create visual rhythm.
- Keep even spacing between the frames, 8 to 12 cm between each piece is a good standard.
- Start from the centre and radiate outward, place your centrepiece first, then build around it.
- Before drilling, test the layout on the floor or with painter's tape on the wall.
Which wall to choose?
A dark wall (charcoal, midnight blue, dark green) makes the sets' bright colours pop, Ferrari red, McLaren papaya, Koenigsegg white. A white or light wall gives a clean art-gallery look that works for all sets. Avoid walls with too much direct natural light.
The finish: frame or standoffs?
For a gallery with several pieces, we recommend choosing a single finish for the whole set, either all framed, or all with standoffs. A consistent finish reinforces the gallery effect. If you mix, use standoffs for the large formats and the frame for the small ones.
